BURK, Harry Armstead, 81, of Radford, died Tuesday, September 24, 1996, in a Radford retirement home. He was a retired employee of the Southwest Virginia Gas Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. Burk. Surviving are two stepdaughters, Betty Jo Hixon, Radford, and Frances H. Farmer, Christiansburg; one stepson, Charles L. Hixon Jr., Blacksburg; a brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Mildred Burk, Christiansburg; a sister-in-law, Virginia Burk, Radford. A host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 27, 1996, at DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Emswiler officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home.
