Anna "Elaine" Sorensen Moulton 1925-2012 Salt Lake City, UT

Elaine Sorensen Moulton, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2012, after a long and valiant struggle with Alzheimer's.

Elaine was born on May 18, 1925 in Sandy, Utah to Alonzo William Bryan Sorensen and Anna Clara Pearson Sorensen. She grew up in Sandy, Utah and Berkeley, California and was very close to her sister, Pat and her brother, George. She had many friends, enjoyed school and developed a love for literature. Elaine attended Brigham Young University where she met her eternal companion, Floyd Chase Moulton, whom she married on January 31, 1951, in the Salt Lake Temple. Elaine was a wonderful mother and she devoted her life creating a loving home for Floyd and their three children. Elaine also found great joy in being a grandmother and was very proud of the talents and accomplishments of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elaine was an excellent cook and took joy in providing delicious family meals. Elaine was an artist. As an avid scrapbooker and card maker, family members and friends often benefited from her exceptional talent.Elaine served faithfully in all the church callings she had as a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She especially loved teaching the Primary children. She loved to read the scriptures and made them a part of her life.

Elaine is survived by her three children: Lynn (Betty) Moulton, Janene (Jim) Kauffman and Nancy (Sheldon) LaMont; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and infant daughter Jane Mardene.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Cottonwood Eleventh Ward Chapel, 1770 East 6400 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends may call Sunday, December 30th from 5:00-7:00p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Monday, December 31 at the church from 11:00-11:30a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
