He first married Mary Tilson on August 9, 1804 in Carver Massachusetts. She died July 10, 1826 in Middleboro Massachusetts. She is the daughter of Ichabod and Azuba (Thomas) Tilson. Vital records Middleboro Massachusetts page 73.

He married second, Keziah Shaw on October 14, 1826 in Middleboro Massachusetts.

The Tilson Genealogy page 327 which states he was employed in a local iron mill and Representative Men of South-east Massachusetts page 1194 which call him "Deacon".

The will for Jarius was probated at East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. He was a called yeoman. Ansel Benson and John Benson and Otis Thomas, 2nd were witnesses. The estate amounted to $1320.00. His land abutted that of John and Stillman Benson. He also owned a third part of pew # 19 in the South Middleboro Chapel. (probate Record Plymouth Massachusetts folio #8331)
