Herbert Allen Barkley
NESS CITY - Herbert Allen Barkley, 88, died Feb. 26, 1994, at Monroe, La.
He was born May 12, 1905, at Ransom, the son of William Albert and Mary LaRetta Crock Barkley. A Monroe , La., resident, formerly of Ness City, he was a teacher.
He was a member of First Assembly Of God, Topeka, the National Education Association, and the Association and Kansas State Teachers Association.
On Aug. 29, 1934, he married Stella May Brown at LaCrosse. She died March 12, 1977.
Survivors include two daughters, Loretta Ashbrook, Monroe, La.,and Sharon Fritz, Wheaton, ILL.: a brother, John Barkley, Arizona: five grandchildren: and a great grandson.
Funeral will be at 11 a,m, Wednesday at Fitzerald Funeral Home Chapel, Ness City, under the direction of Newcomers-Biffenderfer Funeral Home, Topeka. Burial will be in the Brownell Cemetery, Brownell.
