MRS. JAMES ASTLE
VINELAND, N.J. -- Mrs. Blan-
che Pearson Astle of Vineland,
N.J., died Aug. 9 in the Newcombe
Hospital there.
She was born in Berkeley County
on May 10, 1894, a daughter of the
late Charles and Emma DeLancey
Gregory.
Mrs. Astle had lived in Vineland
for the past 65 years, and was a
retired cook at the Vineland Train-
ing School.
Twice married, she was preced-
ed in death by both husbands,
Frank Pearson and James Astle.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas
Pearson, Vineland; Charles Pear-
son, Elmer, N.J.; one daughter,
Mrs. N e l l i e G a r r e t s o n ,
Monroeville; seven grandchildren
and eight great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one
brother, C.E. Gregory, three
sisters, Mrs. Robert (Bessie) Gain,
Mrs. Frank (Florence) Shepherd,
and Mrs. Elmer (Grace) Hill.
Funeral services were conducted
Monday, Aug. 13 at the Corson
Funeral Home in Vineland with in-
terment in Siloam Cemetery. At-
tending the services from here
were Mr. and Mrs. Frank L.
Shepherd and Miss Grace M. Hill,
and Mr. and Mrs. Jack (Mary Ann)
