Daniel Vincent Giannotti died peacefully at St. Mary's Residential Hospice, Knoxville, Tennessee on January 25, 2010. He was born on March 7, 1916 at St. Anne's Hospital, Chicago to Federico and Concetta (Romano) Giannotti. Dan is predeceased by his wife Dawn, parents Federico and Concetta, sisters Sylvia and Eva, brother-in-law Jim Klein and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Surviving are his sons, Dan (Toni), David (Lynda), grandchildren Danny (Theresa), Christine (Craig), Tim and Cam, Sister Norma Klein, cousins, nieces, and extended family members. A special joy for Dan was his great-granddaughter Brooke Giannotti. Thanks to the love and care from son Dan, close neighbors, staff at the University of Tennessee Medical Center Home Care Services Hospice, Dan lived independently in his own home until 4 weeks ago. The staff and volunteers of St. Mary's Residential Hospice showed great compassion for Dan in his last weeks. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday January 30, 2010, with visitation begging at 10:00 AM, at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte 83) Antioch, IL. Interment with Military Honors will follow at East Fox Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Blunt County Library or the charity of your choice.
