On May 5, 1946, the Death Angel called and took away our dear father, William Tom Smith. He was born March 5, 1874, he was 72 years, 2 months and 1 day old.


He was married to Mary Catherine Hart on July 25, 1895. To this union 10 children were born, 2 had preceded him in death, leaving 7 girls and 1 boy who are, Mrs. Rinea Gragg, Mrs. Dona Johnson, Mrs. Sophie Burton, Mrs. Della Winchester, Mrs. Josie Johnson, Mrs. Bertha LaFavers, Miss Maryetta Smith, Miss Elsie Smith and Mr. Leamer B. "Bud" Smith, who is now in the army, stationed at Camp Pickett, Va., Also surviving are 35 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, beside his wife and children. He has a host of relatives and friends to mourn his passing.


The funeral was held by Rev. Henry Popplewell and the remains were laid to rest in the Military Spring Cemetery to await the Resurrection Morning.


We want to thank all our neighbors and friends for their kindness

in time of sickness and death.
