Last rites will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. J.E. Dorman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.
Z. Vane Altman was born Feb. 28, 1894, in Keokuk County. He was the son of Samuel and Lydia Sasson Altman. He was married Aug. 6, 1919 to Letha McMullen who survives.
A retired farmer, they had lived in Jefferson County over fifty years. He was a member of the Ollie Methodist Church and a Veteran of World War I.
In addition to his widow Altman is survived by one son,
K. Leon Altman, Garden Grove, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Pirtle, Fairfield, and Mrs. Phyllis Hall, Temple City, Calif.; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a sister, Lottie Ward, Packwood.
He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
