Great Grandson of Benjamin Day and Mary Robinson, married December 16, 1714.
Grandson of Jonathan Day and Bethiah Everett, married April 08, 1743.
Son of Joel Day, married Sarah Wilson, October 16, 1783, in Killingly, Windham County, Connecticut. Daughter of Samuel Wilson and Betsie Adams. Oldest of ten children. Son Eliphalet Wright Day, married 1804, Killingly, Connecticut, to Abigail Moffett.




Early Settlers:
Born in Connecticut, married there, moved to Onondaga County, New York. From there moved to and settled in Richland Ohio, in 1816, lived there two years, then came to Fairfield, Ohio. Sometime in the fall of 1818; took up land in 2 and 11, section 3D. The children who came with them were Lovila , Joel , Hosea , Issac , Abigail. Those born after removal to Fairfield, where John M. , First Birth Town of Fairfield, Ohio. William Henry , Wilson , Child Day second child to die upon settling a new and wild country. And Bernard T. who resides upon the old homestead. His family was large, blacksmith by trade, and first in the township and worked some at his trade while clearing up his farm. Was elected Justice of the Peace for the second time in Fairfield, Ohio. The family was much broken, lost two children in 1823; only one family is now living in Fairfield, his son Bernard owns the old farm. E.W. Day, had a large share in the work of improving the township and advancing the interest of its people. He was a useful man to the township. In Fairfield, on the 12th, after a protracted illness of several months, Eliphalet W. Day, Esq, aged 62 leaving a wife and several children to mourn this bereavement.
Mr. Day was one of the pioneers and came into this county in the year 1817, then almost a wilderness, and felled the forest, cleared his farm, and could his swath with any person being a robust, industrious, upright, and honest man.
