Born in Kearny, NJ, a son of the late Joseph Michael, Sr. and Lillian Elizabeth Hoey Geoghan, he had been a resident of the CSRA since 1968. A veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring after over twenty-one years of service, earning the rank of Sergeant First Class. Following his service to his country, he went to work with the United States Postal Service, where he also retired. He was a member of Gloverville First Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing golf and collecting antiques.
A graveside service with full military honors accorded by a United States Army Honor Guard will be held in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC..
