Frances H. Abramowicz, age 92, of Norwalk, wife of the late Zigmond P. Abramowicz, died peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2009 at The Carolton Chronic and Convalescent Hospital, Fairfield. Born on December 25, 1916 in Stonington, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Nowak. She was a strong-willed and independent family woman, like her mother before her, and she did things her way. She loved birds, especially Cardinals, and surrounded herself with the people and things she loved. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed league play into her 70''s, and was a past member of the Senior Center, the Columbiettes and Widows and Widowers.

Predeceased by 2 brothers Edward and Henry, and a sister Florence, she is survived by her daughter Carol Warner of Fairfield, a grand-daughter Amanda McCann and her husband John, of Riverside, RI, and a great-grandson John McCann,V (Finn), as well as 2 sisters: Dorothy Olean of Boynton Beach, FL and Trudy Whittemore of Naples, FL, sister-in-law Sophie Crown and two nieces Janet Novak and Jean Olean.
