FATHER OF AREA RESIDENT SUCCUMBS
Howard Duckworth, 67, Elwood, KS, died Saturday morning at this home. A native of Marshall, he had resided in Elwood the past 30 years.

Before his retirement as an employee of that city last spring, he had been a Doniphan County employee. Mr. Duckworth was a member of the Elwood Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Duckworth; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Baker, Maysville, and Mrs. Joan Harrison, Kansas City; a son, Gael Duckworth, Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, Mrs. Pansy Shorkey, Green City, MI, and Mrs. Hazel Sturdiven, Ouray, CO; three brothers, John Duckworth, Topeka, KS, Harmon Duckworth, San Francisco, CA, and Claude Duckworth, San Diego; ten grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were Mon. at 3:00 p.m. at the Harmon chapel, Wathena, KS, with Rev. Durward Van Bebber officiating. Burial was in the Belmont Cemetery, there.
