A former Coulterville resident, Bertha N. Elder, 83, of Fairview Heights, died Saturday, May 14, 1977, at Belleville Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.
She was born Aug. 23, 1893, in Steeleville, to David and Elizabeth Readnour [sic] Robinson.
She was married Oct. 20, 1919, in East St. Louis to Lawrence E. Elder, who preceded her in death in 1976.
Two brothers also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a daughter, Eileen Odom of Fairview Heights; a brother, Raymond Robinson of Tilden; a sister, Golda Stanton of Coulterville; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Pyatt Funeral Home in Coulterville. Burial will be in the Coulterville Cemetery.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
