In 1968, she moved to Michigan with her husband, Eric Montague, and was later united in marriage with Michael Gilmore on January 13, 2004 in Caro.
She and Michael moved to Austin, Kentucky in 2008. Peggy was employed with Walmart for nearly twenty years, retiring in 2012.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and canning. Peggy had an endless ability to love and care for family and friends, and will be missed greatly by those who knew her.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Michael Gilmore of Austin, Kentucky; five children and their spouses, Sheila & Kevin Nicholas of Vassar, Erica & Gerald Dibble of Caro, Sabrina & David Pickering of North Branch, Cathy & Dave Dillon of Marlette, Curt & Terra Gilmore of Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; eight siblings, Ona, Alvus, Verma, Kay, Sandra, Connie, Ray and Cynthia; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by six siblings, Charles, Donald, Armond, Billy, Brenda and Gwenda.
A memorial gathering was held from the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Final prayers were held at the funeral home.
