Arthur E. Funk, 48, died at 4:30 a.m. today at his home, 320 South Ash street. He was born April 6, 1894, at Lovilia, the son of Henry Clayton and Mary Ellen Funk. He had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 19 years and was an employe of John Morrell & Co. He was a veteran of the first World war and enlisted June 3, 1917, at Ottumwa and was discharged May 14, 1919, at Camp Dodge. He was a member of post No. 775, V.F.W. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Funk, and the following children: Charles V. Funk, Bremerton, Wash.; Arthur Phillip Funk, John G. Funk, Melvin C. Funk, Alica Funk and Helen Funk, all at home. He is also survived by four brothers and four sisters.
The body is at the Johnson funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
