Westlake – Clyde V. Ripley, 92, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2014 at his residence.
He was a lifetime resident of Westlake, LA and a member of First Pentecostal Church of Westlake. He was a very proud veteran of the United States Navy. He served during WWII in the Pacific Theater as a radio operator. Clyde was in the very first class of 1941 at McNeese State University. He was the first class President and the student body President. He retired from Exxon.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth Clyde Ripley of Westlake; daughter, (Glenda) Faye Ripley Berg and husband Louis of Cordova, TN, niece, Debbie Stout and husband Richard of Westlake; daughter-in-law, Debbie Ripley of Portland, TN; grandchildren, Tony Ripley of Henderson, TN, Terry Ripley and wife Theresa of Shelbyville, TN, Rachael Ripley Ajay and husband Mathew of Kennesaw, GA, Alan Ripley and wife Amber of Wilmington, NC, Ryan Ripley of Nashville, TN and Kaitlyn Bell of Cordova, TX; great grandchildren, Kelsey Ripley, Charlotte Rose Ripley and Lyla Harper Ripley. He is preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Ripley, son, Edward A. Ripley, parents and sister, Doris Cox.
His service will be 11:00am, Thursday, October 16, 2014, at First Pentecostal Church of Westlake. Rev. Mark Stanton will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00am until time of service at the church. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake.
