ALBERT ABSTON

Services for Albert Cecil Abston, 73, 227 West 1st, will be 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.  The Rev, Bill Dewey and the Rev. Michael Patrick will conduct the rites.

Mr.   Abston died Friday, May 16, 1980, in a local hospital.

He was born, September 21, 1906, in Clark Range, Tennessee, to  Christopher L. and Stella Watson Abston, and came to Ada in 1919.  He Married Mary Bradley here in 1927. 


Mr. Abston was a retired employee of the City of Ada and a member of the United Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; two daughters, Janeta N. Abston, and Nell Sliger, both of Ada; one sister, Minnie Etta Tayes, Tennessee; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be Randall Cox, Anthony Cox, Kendall Shropshire, Bryon Cox, Kenny Sliger, and Timmy Don Shropshire.

Honorary bearers are Glen Pollard, Wade Dean, George Cochram, Don Henderson, Alvin Murdock, and G.M. "Shorty" Rogers.
