LAKE CITY [Florence Co.]—Franklin Alford, 42, a former employee with T.S. Ragsdale Co., died Sunday [June 4] in a Florence hospital. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today in Greater St. James AME Church. Burial, directed by Green’s Funeral Home, will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Kingstree.
Mr. Alford was born in Florence County, a son of Mitchell Alford and Wilhelmenia McClam Alford.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Foster Cooper, of Lake City; two sisters, Cassandra Speights of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Murdese McClary of Kingstree; six brothers, Mitchell Alford, Ronald Alford, Donald Alford, all of Lake City, James Alford of Raleigh and Linwood Alford and Jerry Alford, both of Atlanta; and his grandmother, Mabel McClam of Winston-Salem, N.C.
