Early Life: Mack, the son of Jacob Calvin and Lula McClellan Croft, was born on February 7, 1932, in Ames, Iowa. He grew up in a variety of locations, including the Uintah Basin, Salt Lake City, Cedar City, and Orem, Utah, as well as, Havre, Montana, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Following his senior year of high school in Las Vegas, Mack attended the Branch Agricultural College (now SUU) from 1950 to 1952, where he decided to study geology. He then transferred to Brigham Young University where he continued his geology studies and participated in the AFROTC. He graduated from BYU in 1956 achieving both a BS and an MS in Geology. Mack was drafted into the United States Navy in 1956. He was stationed in San Diego, California, where he met his future wife, Anna LaRae McCullough, at an LDS ward. On July 9, 1958, Mack and LaRae were married for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah LDS Temple. They are the parents of three daughters and two sons. Mack worked for the United States Geological Survey for 27 years and the State of Utah for 10 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and horsemanship. Mack Gerald Croft passed away on October 11, 2014, in Lehi, Utah. He was 82.
Survived By: His wife, Anna LaRae McCullough Croft; two sisters: Mary (Kendall) Cram Jones and Vivian (Myron) Best; two brothers: Kent (Bonnie) Croft and Clair Croft; three daughters: Rebecca (Blake) Christensen, Linda (James) Seeley and Barbara (Michael) Barzee; two sons: David (Juan) Croft and Donald (Gabriela) Croft; and eleven grandchildren. His family loves him and misses him dearly.
