Elizabeth Luiz Aguiar was born in Hakalau, Hawaii, Hawaii County on 12 Sept 1913. She was the daughter of Manuel Carreiro Luiz, Sr. and Mary (Pacheco) Luiz. She married Dan in 1936 and they had 5 children: Janet, James, Jerry and Geraldine (twins), and Donald.

She left us on 29 June 1980. She was buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward on 2 July 1980, after a Requiem High Mass at St. Felicitas Catholic Church, San Leandro.

She is survived by her husband, Dan C. Aguiar; two sons, Jerry of White City, OR., and Donald of Hayward, CA.;two daughters, Janet Mess of Eagle Point, OR., and Geraldine Schennek of Castro Valley, CA.; three sisters, Julia Tavares, Ruth Souza (of Hilo) and Mildred Wilberts of Honolulu; two brothers, Clarence Luiz and Manuel Luiz of Hilo and nine grandchildren.
