Arriving in 1800 in Towanda, Bradford County, Pennsylvania - Reuben Hale was a native of Glastonbury, Connecticut. He purchased the Grantier and several other properties on Towanda Creek.
He was very successful in his various investments and enterprises. Mr Hale was a man of superior judgement and performed many public duties.
In 1810, he was appointed Towanda's first postmaster and was for several years a Justice of the Peace. He died, 1825, aged 52 years.
His wife was Wealthy Tracy and their children:
