She was a daughter of Henry and Lillian Kelly Lesperance, and was raised by Leah Coonard. She graduated Ogdensburg Free Academy.

She married Bernard Patchin on September 29, 1952 at St. John's Episcopal Church with her brother, Father Ralph E. Coonrad, officiating. He died on 6/17/2004.

Surviving was a sister, June McCoy; and many nieces and nephews.

She first went to work for Acco, and then later on became one of the first woman police officers in Ogdensburg. Mrs. Patchin then took a job at the State Hospital as a secretary where she retired.

She was a past member of St. John's Episcopal Church and the Moose Lodge.
