David Ewing Baily was the son of Milton Baily, b. 23 Apr 1799 New Market MD - d. 30 Jul 1855 Sidney OH, and Eleanor Ewing, b. abt 1803 PA - d. abt 1835 probably in Green Co. PA.

David had a younger sister, Margaret E. Bailey, b. 26 Jan 1832, probably PA - d. 29 May 1864, Sidney, Shelby Co. OH.

Milton Baily married 2nd, 10 Oct 1836, Baltimore, MD, Lydia G. (Day) Burson, b. 28 Dec 1806, near Dublin, Harford Co. MD - d. 14 Apr 1899, Troy, Miami Co. OH; the widow of Thomas Burson and the daughter of John Day, b. 1760, Chester PA - d. 1842, Dublin MD, and Sarah Ann Fisher, b. 1768, Chester PA - d. 4 Oct 1841.

In 1860, David Ewing Baily was Tax Collector for Virginia City NV; in 1861 he was City Marshall, Street Commissioner, and at 6' 1", one of the "Jury of Tall Men" summoned by the 1st sheriff of Storey Co. NV, Sheriff William Henry Howard.

David E. Baily, attorney, married 30 Nov 1867, Virginia City, Anna J. [--?--] Frazell, who had divorced her 1st husband, Lucius H. Frazell.

Anna J. and Lucius H. Frazell had two daughters, Clara O. Frazelle, and Viola H. Frazell.

In the 1870 Census, David E. & Anna J. Baily are enumerated in Virginia City.   In 1871 the Baily's moved east to Eureka NV.

In 1884-1889, Judge Baily was Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Nevada.   He then moved to San Diego, was First Master of Silver Gate U. D. in 1889 and Silver Gate Lodge No. 296 in 1890.   Judge Baily went to Seattle, Washington, for a brief time and by 1892 settled in Olympia WA.   He is a Past Master of Olympia Lodge No. 1

David Ewing Baily passed away at Lane Hospital in San Francisco, of catarrhal pneumonia.

BAILY--In this city, November 30, 1901, Judge David E. Baily of Olympia, Wash.
Funeral services will take place tomorrow (Wednesday), at 10 o'clock, at B'nai B'rith Hall, 121 Eddy street, under the auspices of Pacific Lodge No. 136, F. and A. M.
