Sophia Calhoun, 9, of Bloomington passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014.
She was born March 23, 2005 in West Branch, Michigan.
She was a fourth grade student at Bloomington Elementary School and was adored by her teachers and many friends.
Sophia was a princess and loved the color pink.

She is survived by her parents; three brothers, five aunts and their spouses; her maternal grandmother and husband; her paternal grandparents; eight Michigan cousins, five Texas cousins, and five Ohio cousins.

Sophia was preceded in death by grandfather, Robin Castonguay and uncle,
Jesse "Dewey" Castonguay.

She is buried next to her great-grandparents, Marion B. Calhoun and Fay Calhoun .

Sophia Calhoun, 9, of Bloomington passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014. She was born March 23, 2005 in West Branch, Michigan to Yvonne Castonguay Calhoun and Harold 'Hal' Calhoun. She was a fourth grade student at Bloomington Elementary School and was adored by her teachers and many friends. Sophia was a princess and loved the color pink.

She is survived by her parents; brothers, Edward Calhoun of Hale, Michigan, Cole Calhoun of Manchaca, Texas, and Alexzander Calhoun of Bloomington, Texas; aunts, Valerie Castonguay Moore and husband, Brian, of Davison, Michigan, Colleen 'Pete' Castonguay Williams and husband, Luke, of Oscoda, Michigan. Regina Renee Calhoun Basinger and husband, Travis, of Victoria, Texas, Toya Calhoun Langenberg and husband, Melvin, of Manchaca, Texas, and Danylle Richey Kavouras and husband, Theo, of Cleveland, Ohio; grandparents, Eileen and Victor Kindell of Sand Lake, Michigan and Marion and Marjorie Calhoun of Victoria.

She was preceded in death by grandfather, Robin Castonguay and uncle, Jesse Castonguay.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 26, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Freund Funeral Home in Cuero, Texas. Services will be held on Monday, October 27, 2014, 10 a.m., at Freund Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Bowman of First Baptist Church, Bloomington, Texas officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero.

Pallbearers include her brothers, Edward Calhoun, Cole Calhoun, and Alex Calhoun, and cousin, Maxx Langenberg. Honorary pallbearers include her Michigan cousins, Mikaela Foster, Kaitlyn Moore, Kage Williams, Amaya Williams, Braeden Moore, Dreyton Williams, Ciara Moore and Jhonas Williams, her Texas cousins, Catherine Miller Newell and husband, Corey, Alicia Miller and Daniel Miller Jr, and her Ohio cousins, Lily Kavouras, Marina Kavouras, Dean Kavouras, Theodore Kavouras, and Thomas Kavouras.
