Carole J. Hennings, age 82, of Kiel died unexpectedly on Sunday evening, October 19, 2014 at her home. She was the former Carole Schoenfeld, born August 11, 1932 in Sheboyan Falls, daughter of the late Francis & Ruth (Altenberger) Schoenfeld. Carole was a graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On May 5, 1956 she married Robert E. Hennings at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel. Carole was the Secretary/Treasurer of the Kiel Foundry Company, Inc. which she and her husband Robert owned together. She was a longtime member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Kiel where she was an active with the Women's Guild, the Mendelssohn Choir and was a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Kiel VFW Auxiliary, enjoyed golfing and bowling and especially enjoyed spending time with her family at their cottage on Cedar Lake. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Robert E. Hennings, three children; Patrice (James) Klatt, Grafton, Robert H. (Karen) Hennings, Kiel, Susan (Scott) Bartlein, Saukville & daughter-in-law Patricia (Larry) Hennings-Bonde, Kiel. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Laura (Richard) Brooks, Wheaton, IL., Lindsey Klatt, Milwaukee, Robert H. Jr (Johanna) Hennings, Lynnwod, WA, Greg Hennings, Kiel, Tony (Kimberly) Hennings, Eau Claire, Anna Bartlein, Saukville, Mitchell Bartlein, Saukville, Stephanie Hennings and fiance, Adam Eckardt, Howards Grove, Kimberly Hennings, Green Bay, one brother, Jon Michael Schoenfeld, Edgewood, WA, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Thomas Hennings and one sister, Jan Bennett. Funeral services for Carole will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday October 23, 2014 at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th St., Kiel with Deacon Pat Knier officiating. Entombment will take place in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her name.
