Kenneth W. "Hutch" Hutchins, 68, of Whiting passed away Monday, July 26, 1999 at Northwestern Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Jean (nee Pramuk); three daughters, Kathleen McKinney of Whiting, Kay (David) Bishop of Portage and Koreen (Michael) Stambolija of Whiting; mother, Hazel Burke of East Chicago; three half sisters, Nina Hutchins, Bonnie Beardsley and Susan Riddle, all of Gas City, Indiana; one grandson, Jonathan Kerr of Whiting; two sisters-in-law, Florence Kurella of Whiting and Helen Pramuk of East Chicago; close cousins, Hazel (Tom) Wisz of Wheatfield, Indiana and Alan Quigley of Wheatfield, Indiana; special "father" to Jeffery Kerr; many nieces and nephews; numerous dear friends in Ludington, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 31, 1999 at 10 a.m. at the Owens Funeral Home, Calumet Ave. and 119th St., Whiting.
Burial, Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Mr. Hutchins was a member of the 44th National Guard Engineers; retired superintendent from LTV Steel; also retired from Production Tools Company;
member of the Whiting Elks and was a 32nd Degree Mason - the Whiting Lodge will have services at 8 p.m. Friday; member of the Goodfellows of East Chicago. He was a beloved son, father, husband and grandfather who will be dearly missed by family and friends.
