JOHN ATCHISON John ATCHISON died yesterday morning at the Hartford Hospital from a complication of diseases. He had been in the institution about two weeks, having been taken there from his home, No. 56 Asylum street. Mr. ATCHISON was born in this city January 8, 1829, the son of Adam ATCHISON, who was wharf collector for many years. He was the engineer of the mail steamer running from New York to New Orleans during the Civil War and was one of the oldest steamboat engineers on the Connecticut River. He is survived by his wife and five children, Mrs. H. P. BARBER of Garden street, Frank S. ATCHISON of Boise, Idaho, Frederick H. ATCHISON, Everett B. ATCHISON of this city and John L. ATCHISON of New Haven. There are two sisters, Mrs. James JORDAN of Canton street and Miss Rachel ATCHISON. The funeral will be attended at the undertaking rooms of Hills & Marchant to-morrow afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, services to be conducted by Rev. John T. HUNTINGTON of St. James’s Church.
