Agnes Rice m. Jonathan Bivens
They married on 23 Oct 1824, in Garrard Co, KY
Jonathan Bivens b. 1805 KY who was a wagoner from KY
Agnes presumably passed away at the home of her son Robert Bivens.
She was supposed to be an Indian and when the family went to town for supplies the children rode in the wagon with their father, but she refused to ride in the wagon and would walk along be side it. She would put her shoes in the wagon and walk barefoot until they reached the edge of town, then she would put her shoes on. Every spring she would get a blanket and a few supplies and would ride horseback to see her people. This story appears in the History of Linn County, Missouri but there is no PROOF that she had any Native American blood.
The story of Agnes Rice Bivens having Native American blood is a MYTH. There has never been any documented evidence for it and initial DNA testing among my family has shown 0% Native American.

She is believed to be buried near her son, Robert, but I have seen no evidence that her grave was marked.
