She was born Sept. 9, 1941, in Faribault, the daughter of Elmer and Emelda (Lehman) Koester. On Sept. 9, 1957, Marion married Eugene Olson at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna. She worked at SPX for 30 years. She enjoyed needlepoint, shopping, reading, playing bingo, and most of all spending time with her family and her grandkids. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Marion is survived by her husband Eugene E. of Owatonna; daughter Debbie (and Andy) Thraen of Brooklyn Park, son Duane (and Charlotte) Olson of Owatonna, daughter Denis (and Tom) Sexton of Brooklyn Park, daughter Dawn Grosland (and Ross Leonhardi) of Albert Lea, son Dennis (and Theresia) Olson of Placentia, Calif., son Dana Olson of Owatonna; three sisters; three brothers; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
Visitation will be held at Michaelson Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m., and on Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 9-10 a.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 30, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the church. Reverend Edward McGraith will be officiating.
Burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Owatonna.
