Rites Conducted For J. L. Bader
Services were held for Jacob L. (Jake) Bader Saturday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m. in the Evangelical Reformed church. Services were conducted by Rev. Dale Wolfgram and interment was in Oakwood cemetery.
Mr. Bader suffered a heart attack on Tuesday and died Thursday morning at St. John McDonald hospital.
Pallbearers were Albert Hartman, Lee Bartlett, Tobe Hanken, John Tschantz, George Barnts and Albert Hackbarth.
Mr. Bader was born in Monticello Apr. 26, 1887, the son of Simon and Martha Schneiter Bader. He married Lucille Rodamacker (sic) June 19, 1920, at Elkader and lived in Monticello his entire life. He manufactured "Presto" stove polish for 25 years and retired in 1947 turning the business over to a son, Ralph.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Ralph and Milton of Monticello and Louis of Wharton, Ohio; one daughter, Marguerite (Mrs. Justin Woock) of Guttenberg and 11 grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers, Godfrey of Monticello and George of Bala, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Nelson of Corvallis, Ore., and Mrs. William McComb of Chicago, Ill.
He was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed church and V. F. W. Post 1638.
