Mr. Hamm, a coal miner who had lived in Lock Haven for 40 years, succumbed at the age of 70 alter a lengthy illness. He was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, and was a member of the Salvation Army, for which organization he frequently served as the physical embodiment of Santa.
He was survived by his wife, the former Mary A.Berry, and these sons and daughters: Fred, with whom he lived, Albert Jr., Robert, Richard, Donald, who was in the Navy; Mrs. Gladys Myers; and Mrs. Sara Bauman, Swissdale; Louise, Linden and Miss Ethel, Lock Haven. Also surviving were 30 grandchildren.
His funeral services were conducted at the Helt Funeral Home, Lock Haven, Delbert Helt, Funeral Director, with Adjutant Raymond L. Raines of the Salvation Army officiating.
Interment was in Dunnstown Cemetery.
