YORK-Albert A (Butts) Hamm Jr., 82, of 475 Rock Hill Lane, York, formerly of Lock Haven, died Tuesday [3 Nov 1998] at York Hospital. He was the husband of Martha (Fox) Hamm, to whom he was married for 25 years.
The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Yost-Gedon Funeral Home, 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Burial will be in Dunnstown Cemetery, Woodward Township, Clinton County. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hamm was born June 10, 1916, in Kato. He was the son of the late Ethel Berry and Albert A Hamm Sr.
He retired from the West Co. in 1981. Prior to that he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad and Bethlehem Steel. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and had worked for the WWPA work force. He attended radio school in Philadelphia and the Salvation Army in Lock Haven.
Mr. Hamm also is survived by a son, Albert A Hamm III of Harrisburg, four daughters, Diana Corl of Bellefonte, Helen Rhoads of Reading, Margaret Mayes of Avis and Betty Anderson of Kearyn, NJ; two step daughters, Naomi Long of Beech Creek and Leona Swartz of York, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, two brothers, Fred Hamm of Avis and Don Hamm of Lock Haven, and two sisters, Sarah Sheedy and Gladys Myers both of Lock Haven.
Officiating at the service will be Captain Daniel Hilty of the Lock Haven Salvation Army.
