In 1927, he second married Sophie Froyen (née Thorsen) in Ephrata, Washington; it was her second marriage also. They settled in Port Madison on Bainbridge Island & he helped raise the five children from her first marriage. They had no children in their eleven years together.
After he died at home from a coronary thrombosis, Sophie saw that he was laid to rest next to his first wife in Seattle.
