Memorial services for Sherrill Anthony Baldree will be held at 3PM Friday Oct 24, 2014 at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd, Jacksonville, Florida with pastor Harvey Hahn of Glendale Community Church, officiating. Sherrill passed away peacefully after a long illness in the company of family members on Oct 20, 2014. He was 62. He had many nicknames, including “Dinky”, favored by most family and friends. Born May 19, 1952 to Helen (Eubanks) and Sherrill Hammond Baldree, he made his lifelong home in Jacksonville. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, and was employed as a plant operator at a wastewater treatment company for several years prior to his illness. He lived an adventurous life and enjoyed surfing with his favorite dog “Rex”, off-roading in his Willys Jeep, hunting, fishing, and barbecuing almost every weekend. He is survived by his mother, Helen Eubanks Baldree, his loving wife of 44 years, Brenda Cavender Baldree, two children, Tara Baldree Skalowski (Daniel), and Jonathan Anthony Baldree (Courtney), two grandchildren, William Anthony Baldree and Barrett Anthony Baldree, a brother, David Baldree (Lori), a nephew, David Baldree, Jr., an aunt, Bessie Eubanks Smith, and many cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Sherrill Hammond Baldree, an aunt, Ilda McCalligan, an uncle, Sherrill (Mac) McCalligan and an uncle, Jack Smith. The family will receive friends from 2-3PM Friday at the funeral home.
