Mrs. Anna Popelar, 89, a former Francis Creek resident, died Saturday evening,January 24, at Memorial Hospital Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville. Deacon William Klein will officiate and burial will be in Kossuth National Cemetery.
Mrs. Popelar, the former Anna Oswald, was born Jan. 7, 1892, in the Town of Franklin, daughter of the late Wencel and Mary Kubsh Oswald. She was married to Michael Popelar May 21, 1912. The couple then farmed in the Town of Kossuth and in 1951 they moved to Francis Creek. She was a member of Francis Creek-Rockwood Senior Citizens. Her husband died July 28, 1956.
Survivors are three sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Vi Popelar and Darwin and Helen Popelar of Manitowoc and Clarence and Florence Popelar of Mishicot; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mrs. Grace Schamburek of Whitelaw and Florence and Victor Baumann of Route 1, Whitelaw, and a sister, Mrs. Mayme Polivka of Manitowoc. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters, a great grandchild and a son-in-law.
Friends may call at Saur Funeral Home 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Mondayafternoon and Tuesday until the time of service.
