He was born January 4, 1936, in Birdell, Arkansas, to Claude Bob and Maude Hardin Johnson.
He worked at Avis Car Rental in Denver, CO and was a Mason.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Iola Butner Johnson; brothers, Marvin, Cecil, and Robert Johnson; and sisters, Luttie M. Johnson and Drucelia Oaks.
Survivors include his son; Joel Johnson of Grand Island, NE; brother, James Johnson of Springfield, MO; sisters, Sue Agnes Young of Imboden and Mary Francis Herron of Springfield, MO; and grandson, John Max Johnson.
Services were held at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel in Walnut Ridge. Burial was in the Hardin Cemetery in Imboden.
