Garland Lee Bobst, 64, of Norristown, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014 surrounded by his family.
Garland will be missed by his wife Lorraine (nee Picariello) Bobst; his five loving children, Georgia (Bobst) Gray of Downingtown, Jeremy Bobst of Morgantown, Christa Bobst of Honey Brook, Angeline (Bobst) Rogers (Keith) of Douglasville, Alicia (Bobst) Robinson of Honey Brook; 12 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; sister, Kathy Urhig (James) of Ohio; his three brothers, Thomas (Diana) of Jeffersonville, Joseph of Norristown, and Dale (Janey). Garland will also be survived and missed by his companion Margie Riggin, her two daughters Susan Lowe, Cathi Seydel, amongst numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and many friends. Garland is preceded in death by his mother Georgia (Blanton) Bobst, his father Otto Bobst, and his brother Lawrence.
He was originally born in Portsmouth, Ohio, and graduated in 1969 from Methacton High School, in Eagleville. Garland worked as a retail clerk for seven years for Genuardi's Supermakets, 25 years for Acme Supermarkets, and more recently as a bartender/manager for the Keg Bar in Norristown. Garland's passions included go-karts, stock cars, camping, and model trains.
