George Alexander Hall Richardson was born in Leith, Scotland 19 Nov 1872.

He married 28 Dec 1899 in Leith, Scotland, Mary Cobban Carnegie.

He served in the British Navy before coming to Canada in 1907. In Canada he farmed in Plympton Township, Lambton County on the 3rd Concession for 21 years, and later lived in Sarnia. He also worked as a dredging inspector for the Ontario government.

He served during World War I in both the Canadian Navy, which he had joined before the war, and the Canadian Army. He served as a leading torpedo man in the Navy until injured aboard ship. He was discharged from the Navy in 1915, and later joined the 149th Battalion from Lambton County. He was discharged from the Army, after serving in France, on May 19, 1918. He was active in war veteran affairs and served as President of the Canadian Legion Branch Number 62.

George was predeceased by three brothers: William, Nenian and Charles, all of Scotland. One brother survived him, Thomas, of England.

He was survived by his only child, a daughter, Elizabeth Jessie (Walter R. Skelton).

George died 20 Nov 1940 at the age of 68 in Sarnia, Ontario.
