Ralph Edward Hillard, II, 74, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Sierra Vista Regional Health Center.
Ralph was born on October 16, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa, to the late Ralph Sr. and late Marie Hillard. He was raised and educated in Galena, IL, and graduated from Galena High School in 1958. He proudly served with the US Marine Corps.
Ralph was employed for years as audio-visual information specialist at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, and retired in 1991.
He was an active member of SWABS (Buffalo Soldiers). Ralph enjoyed art painting and framing. He was also co-owner with his wife Rin of Mountain Gallery in Sierra Vista.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Marinda "Rin"; stepchildren, Norm W. Whitehurst of Bristol, CT, Lori A. Whitehurst (John) of Olney, MD, Thomas J. Whitehurst (Kelly) of Newburgh, IN, and Marlissa L. Cooper of Sierra Vista; brother, Kenneth (Judy) of Denver, CO.; sister-in-law, Gloria Fiaschetti and brother-in-law, Dante Fiaschetti, both of Sierra Vista; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and interment will on Wednesday, October 29, 2014, at 1 PM at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
