Henry Fischer Is Dead at 90

TWO RIVERS-Active up to a few days ago despite his advanced age, 90-year-old
Henry Fischer, widely known resident of the town of Two Rivers, and father of
Attorney Lyman Fischer of Manitowoc, died at the farm home early Thursday.
Mr. Fischer was stricken three days ago and previously had been in good health.
Only last Friday he drove to Two Rivers from his home two miles north of the
city off Sandy Bay road.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emanuel Evangelical United
Brethern Church, the Rev. M.J. Roehrdanz officiating. Interment will be in
Pioneers' Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Henry Fischer was born in the town of Two Rivers in 1861 (sic), a son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer,
who immigrated to this area from Germany.
In 1899 (sic) he married Miss Alvina Witt. An avid reader Mr. Fischer, took a deep
interest in agriculture throughout his life.
Surviving are his wife, three sons, Warren, a professor at Whitewater State College,
Whitewater, Wis., Robert H. Fischer, an attorney at Shawano, and Attorney Lyman
Fischer, Manitowoc. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Mueller of Saxonburg,
town of Mishicot, and Mrs. Louis Thuss of Oshkosh. There are five grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, from noon Friday until
10 a.m. Saturday, when the casket will be moved to the church.
