John B Lowers was born to George W and Sarah Lowers in Clarion county in 1828. He was in the civil war as a Private Company F 103rd Pa Inf. Enlisted 12-7-1861 at Camp Orr,Pa. On April 20 1864 John was taken captive at Plymouth NC and taken to Andersonville prison. John was married to Eleanor Burns and had three small children at home. George W, Daniel C, and Samuel J Lowers. Also survived were 4 brothers Andrew B, Jacob B, William B, and Daniel Lowers as well as two sisters Sarah Ann and Mary Ann Lowers.
