James E. Chamblee, 87, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 into the open arms of his Savior. He fought a long, hard, courageous battle with coronary disease. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the chapel at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 28, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Mr. Chamblee was born in Hodges, AL. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from Mathis Akins Block Company after 43 years of service. He was a Mason and member of Mable Lodge 255. He was also a member of White Oaks Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Dean Chamblee, parents Curtis and Flossie Chamblee, his siblings; Joy Vivalene Brumley and William Hampton Chamblee, and granddaughter; Daley Cochran.

He is survived by his children, Linda Mullis, Curtis Chamblee, Robert Chamblee, Jimmy Chamblee, Billy Chamblee, Helen Barker, Nancy Bloodworth, Bobby Chamblee and Joe Chamblee. He has a legacy of many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren that he leaves behind.
