Nettie Brinkman was born August 10, 1921, in Treat, Arkansas and passed away in Modesto, Ca. December 31, 2010, after a brief illness. She was raised in Scraper Oklahoma and moved to Vernalis, Ca. as a teenager. She met Fredo Brinkman and they were married August 19, 1939. They farmed in the Vernalis area for many years. They moved to the Twin Falls, Idaho area where they farmed until their retirement. They returned to Ca. in 1987, where they were involved in the restaurant business for many years. Nettie's biggest joy was her family. She enjoyed cooking and looking for new recipes. Her husband, Fredo, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Delores Phillips and husband John, son's, Bob and wife Annette, Don and wife Janice, Roger and wife Priscilla, and Dan. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister Neva Parker, numerous nieces, nephews and adopted grand-dog Jackson.
There will be viewing from 3-5pm on Thursday, Jan. 6, with the service on Friday, January 7 at 10:00am. at Deegan Funeral Chapel in Escalon, Ca., burial following at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nettie's name to the Alexander Cohen Hospice House 2201 Euclid Ave, Hughson, Ca.
