I will later add a bio for my Uncle, but until then, go to his mother, Winnie Ellen Bolen Hall Farley and his father's FIND A GRAVE MEMORIAL. You will find his early years of life. We have lost touch with his family. I would love to find information concerning his wife and children.

In the 1940 U.S. Federal Census, William Jennings Hall was 13 years old. He lived on Ellison Ridge Road, Jumping Branch District, Summer County, W.V., with his mother, Winnie Ellen Bolen Hall Farley, age 35, and his stepdad, Thomas Lee Farley, age 66. They rented their home. Farming was their occupation.

His late father was Lawrence David Hall, born August 13, 1901, in McDowell County, WV. His father died on April 14, 1929 in a tragic "accident" at Mullins, Wyoming County, WV. William was only 2 years. He had 3 other siblings (same mother and father), Vivian Marie Hall, age 11. She is listed in this census. Also, Raymond Owens Hall, age 16, and Garnet Easter Hall, age 17, had apparently already left home. They are not listed in this census.

His other siblings (same mother) listed in this census, are Nellie Lee, age 9; Mary Betheline, age 7; Elizabeth Ellen, age 4; Thomas Dean, age 2; and Emma Mae Farley, age 1 month old. There would be 4 more children born to Thomas and Winnie. They were Clowney Ray (lived only 2 months), Thomas Junior, Gene Autry, and Betty Lou Farley.

He also had 4 stepbrothers, Clinton Eulean, Eugene Douglas, Denny Harold and Walter Lee Farley.
