Knoxville, TN - Alberta G. Allred, age 82, of South Knoxville, passed away June 22, 2016.
She was a graduate of Young High School and retired from the University of Tennessee as an accounting clerk. Alberta was a lifelong active Methodist and currently a member of Colonial Heights UMC.
Preceded in death by parents, French and Lena Goddard; husband, Ted Allred; brother-in-law, Carroll R. Douglas.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and David Smith; grandchildren, Lauren and husband, Matthew Robinson, and Zachary Smith; great-grandson, Michael Robinson; sister, Wanda Douglas of Asheville, NC; nephew, Scott and wife, Carol Douglas; great-niece, Lilly.
The family would like to thank Asbury place for their love and care.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a celebration of life service to follow at 7:00pm at Colonial Heights United Methodist Church, 6321 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920, with Rev. Daniel Ogle officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 for a 10:00am graveside service. Pallbearers will be Zachary Smith, Matthew Robinson, David Keith, Scott Douglas, Jeff Love, and Jake Love.
