Mary Ann Svoboda, age 71, of Sterling, formerly of Chicago, died Tuesday at her home on March 28th. She was employed by Clorox Corp. in Chicago before retiring. Mary Ann was born April 24th, 1934 in Chicago. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Sophie (Dziedzic) Creti. She married John Svoboda in 1959, in Crowne Point, IN. He died in 1981. He worked as a machinist layout man and served in the Armed Forces as a paratrooper. Survivors include four sons; Paul Sandrie and James Svoboda of Sterling, IL., Michael Svoboda of Westminster, Co., and Martin Svoboda of North Richland Hills, Texas, a daughter, Laura Marie Svoboda of Chicago and a sister, Katherine Hamer of Chicago, a brother John Creti of Mountain Pine, Arkansas, 14 grandchildren and 2 great - grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Angeline Cogburn. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum.
