Eddie Otto Davis, son of William and Kathryn Woodford Davis, was born July 14, 1872 at South Olive and departed this life Friday, December 23, 1955, at the Marietta Memorial hospital, aged 83 years, six months and nine days.
In March, 1896, he was united in marriage to Clara Webber. To this union was born two daughters, Mrs. Ethel King of the home and Mrs. Josephine Carter of Caldwell.
In addition to his wife and daughters, he leaves to mourn his passing two grandchildren, James Carter of South Olive and Clara Etta Cardiff of Columbus; five great grandchildren, David and Pamula Carter of South Olive; Brian, Mary Jo and John Patrick Cardiff of Columbus; two brothers, Dock and Frank Davis of South Olive and a host of nieces and nephews and friends. -Five brothers and one grand-daughter are deceased.
He accepted Christ as his personal Savior in 1891 at which time he became a member of the New Harmony Baptist church, where he remained as a faithful member to the end, serving the Sunday school as superintendent for 37 years.
Father is not dead; He has
but passed
Beyond the mists that blind
