She was the fifth child born to Solomon and Cecelia. Baptised two days later at Saint Bartholomew Roman Catholic church in Wilmore, Pennsylvania, address Portage, Pa. The Baptismal sponsors were Phillip and Martha Biter, presumed to be friends of the family. Reverend Father H. McHugh officiated. Clara, as she was known to friends and family, moved west with her parents at the age of two and grew up in Nebraska. In 1899 she married Edward Manion who had been born in Burlington, Vermont. The newley married couple lived in the Queen Bee Precint of Pennington County, South Dakota Ed and Clara had one son, Clarence, who took over his father's mining operation. Clara resided in Denver for another sixteen years and kept in close contact with her family. In later years, Clara suffered from Diabetes. Falling down a stairway at her home, she hit her head and never recovered. It is not know wheather she simpley lost her balance or fell as a complication of diabetes. She died on Nov 19, 1954 at a nearby nursing home.
