Mrs. Queenie A. La Rose Heslop, with of Garnet W, Heslop, proprietor
of the Old Colonial Inn, Port Credit, and former resident of Toronto,
died Wednesday at Wiltshire Hospital, Los Angeles, Cal. Mrs Heslop,
who had been in frail health, left Port Credit last November to
visit her daughter Queenie Eileen Shannon, one-time active in movies
and vaudeville and at present a partner in the management of "The Thelma
Todd Inn," Roosevelt Highway, Pacific Palisades, Cal.
Mrs. Heslop was born in Weston and was a former church organist. She
had lived for some years in Toronto, moving to Port Credit a few years
ago. Surviving are her husband, who is at present in California; five
daughters, Queenie Eileen Shannon, Mrs. Rhea Wheeler and Mrs. Patricia
Stranbe, all of California; Mrs. Lola Kennedy, Bowmanville, and Mrs.
Hazel Southcott, Toronto, and three sons, Rex W. Long Branch; Clarence
J., Detroit, and Karl L. Heslop, St. Catharines.
