Arletta A Stoney December 28, 1921 - November 27, 2021
Arletta A. Downing Stoney of Lambertville, MI., formerly of Grand Ledge, Passed away peacefully, November 27, 2021, at the age of 99. Arletta was born in Kalamazoo, MI., December 28, 1921, the daughter of Orley and Martha (Wilcox) Ayers. She graduated from Vermontville High School, class of 1939. Arletta's big heart led her to volunteer within her community with many different organizations. She was a member of the International Old Lacers Society, The Appleton Ladies Aid Society, was a former member of the American Business and Women's Association and volunteered as a Cub Scout and 4-H leader. Arletta retired as an employee with the Grand Ledge Independent and attended Grand Ledge First Baptist Church. Arletta is survived by her son Orley Downing of Lambertville; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Arletta was preceded in death by her husbands R.H. (Red) Downing and Arthur Stoney, daughters Eunice Fitzgerald and Sandra (Louis) Karmes, and daughter-in-law, Sheila Downing. Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Mills Funeral Home, Peters and Murray Chapel. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
